If your dating, or in a serious relationship with someone and they want to dress you then we need to talk.

There are some men who believe that you should look a certain way when you are with them. Fine. Presentable and yourself works for me and you right? Let me clarify that, what I mean by looking and being yourself, is that I don’t mean to have holes in your shirts and grease stains. I mean in clothing that you are comfortable in what fits you right. Email me if you have questions on your personal style.

So now lets take this a step further. When I speak on dressing you, I mean to fully go out of there way to force you to look a particular way. I’m not talking about suggestions (unless it’s constant), I am talking about straight blatant statements such as “You should dress like (fill in celebrity name) or “You need to become more polished.” Now if you know these statements are true, don’t you get mad at him. But if the statements are more of his preference that you feel is a problem, then this is why were talking.

Many men really like a look that is a step above there own. Honestly, I’m not kidding you. Yeah, yeah, yeah you can scream out that your man loves you for who you are, but lets get real…your appearance plays a factor and will continue to play one for the duration of your relationship. Being in a relationship is not the time to slip when it comes to your appearance just because you “got him.”

Some of you will even come to find out that some men ask for things they are not. For example, you can be involved in a relationship where your partner seems to have a sudden interest in preppy polo pearls looks, and here you are asking why the sudden interest in the polo club style. Mind you he’s not even prep himself right? The whole asking for something your not.

Okay so here are just a few key things to remember when your partner has a few “requests”:

• Who dressed you before he came around
• Would he love you if you didn’t take heed to any of his requests
• Is your personal style really in need of a makeover
• Will the change make YOU happy
• Is it just time to leave him…(you should know the answer to that one)

I wanted to share my “it” bag that I just wore last fall/winter season. I seriously just love this bag because it just fit with my comfy clothes. Berets are great accessory to wear anytime, but especially fashionable in the  fall and winter months. Many people say they look  horrible, but I say many aren’t wearing it right. Here a few tips for wearing a beret:

1) Wear your beret slouchy. Tilt the beret slightly to the side or the back and just let it hang. It doesn’t need to hang on your head to tight.

2)Let the beret frame your face. Use to cover a portion of your hair and leave your bangs and back ends out. It’s best to wear it an inch or two away from your headline.

3)Don’t think to hard about how it should be worn, just relax, put on and go.
